Restylane® Eyelight

While many people attribute tired-looking eyes to a lack of sleep, it’s not uncommon for dark shadows and puffiness underneath the lids to develop even when patients get a full night’s rest. Aging and depleted collagen and elastin levels over time are among the primary causes of a hollow or tired look. That said, reclaiming a brighter appearance is still possible without the need for surgery!

Dr. Ali Sepehr, our double board-certified and fellowship-trained plastic surgeon in Newport Beach, is thrilled to offer patients the opportunity to regain a more refreshed, youthful expression with Restylane® Eyelight. An addition to the Restylane® family of products, Eyelight helps improve under-eye hollows by diminishing shadows and restoring fullness in the midface. This FDA-approved injectable consists of a firm gel that stays in place when filling in under-eye hollows, creating results that look natural.

How Can Restylane® Eyelight Make Me Look Younger?

Restylane® Eyelight can be an excellent way to replenish the hollows underneath the eyes, which may appear sunken or gaunt from the effects of aging over time. Made with hyaluronic acid (HA) and NASHA® Technology, Restylane® Eyelight is injected to:

Puffiness and signs of aging may also be observed in the upper eyelids. While Restylane® Eyelight is not able to address upper eyelid puffiness or “hooding,” these concerns can be effectively treated with blepharoplasty to smooth the eyelid contours. Brow lift surgery and a RadiaLift™ are also common procedures to slow aging in the upper face.

Is Restylane® Eyelight Right for Me?

As a non-surgical treatment, Restylane® Eyelight is safe for a wide range of patients looking for options to rejuvenate the face. This injectable is most successful for men and women who:

Restylane® Eyelight is part of our collection of dermal fillers to replace lost facial volume. If your concerns are more focused on frown lines, crow’s feet, brow creases, or other lines in the upper face, neuromodulators like BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used to soften these wrinkles.

How is Treatment with Restylane® Eyelight Performed?

Like all cosmetic injections, treatment is performed in-office and doesn’t usually require anesthesia. However, a topical numbing agent can be applied if necessary to increase patient comfort. Using a fine needle, your injector will deliver small amounts of Restylane® Eyelight into the under-eye hollows to replenish lost volume. Once the desired outcome is achieved, patients are free to return home and resume their normal routine immediately. Swelling and potential bruising is possible, but no downtime is required.
